2007 Special Year on Mathematical Physics

The year 2007 will be a Special Year on Mathematical Physics within the Mathematical Sciences Institute.

Events

The following events are currently (tentatively) envisaged:

• A one-day workshop on Mathematical Physics (ANU, early Feb) as part of, or immediately following, the joint Perimeter-NITP-Australian Academy of Science workshop (Shine Dome, ANU, Canberra, 5-7 Feb 2007)
• A topical program on the "Geometric Langlands Conjecture" (ANU, July-Aug), with a lecture series by Dennis Gaitsgory (Harvard University) and Tony Pantev (University of Pennsylvania), and a one-day workshop embedded in the conference GL07: Geometry and Lie Theory (A conference marking Gus Lehrer's 60th birthday) (ANU, 2-6 Jul / USyd 9-13 Jul)
• The 1st Asia-Pacific Summer School on Mathematical Physics (ANU, 26 Nov - 7 Dec)
• Annual workshop on Mathematical Physics (NSW South Coast (tentatively), 10-14 Dec), incorporating the Annual Statistical Mechanics meeting.
